We design plants tailored to our clients’ needs

Good design
requires foresight

The design of a biomethane plant is a major contributor to its performance. That’s why our teams work with you on site throughout the process, from feasibility studies right through to the construction of your biomethane plant. Drawing on many years’ experience and technical prowess honed through the construction of more than 80 biomethane plants, our experts can help you make the best choices to ensure your project will be profitable and stand the test of time.

Feasibility studies

A feasibility study is the first step in any project. It enables you to lay the groundwork for your future biomethane plant, covering feedstock sources, the site, digestate use, biogas recovery, surveys and cost-effectiveness analysis. Having conducted over 150 feasibility studies in France and further afield (including in Canada, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Japan, Colombia and Kenya), NASKEO can support you at this crucial opening stage.

Designing your plant

Choosing the equipment and size of the structures that are best suited to the source of feedstock and the land. This is crucial to maximising the feedstock’s methanogic capacity and ensuring smooth construction, operation and maintenance.

Preparing the site: three key steps

Acceptance : Ensuring that the plant blends in with the surrounding landscape and that possible odours and noises are kept to a minimum.
Optimisation : Making sure every element is optimally designed: earthworks, sediment basins on low ground, use of natural slopes, track and retention basin surfaces, cable length and trenches, transformer positioning, the direction of solar panels, etc.
Operation : Ensuring easy access to the site for operation and maintenance purposes.

Calculations

Based on the feedback we receive, we draw up a fair and realistic quote that covers the different project elements, including groundworks, building work and electrical connection.

Creating a business plan

The business plan will serve as a great decision-making tool and help you to get financial backers on your side before the project is complete. We offer an economic study based on the consolidated costs of our existing plants that is clear and objective and recognised by banks, financial backers and third-party investors.

Administrative and regulatory studies

To ensure that your application is well structured and completed in good time, our experts offer support with all studies, as well as administrative and regulatory processes.
• Compilation of documents for ICPE (installations classified for the protection of the environment) applications and building permits.
• Compilation of documents for health and safety accreditation.
• Electricity and gas connection processes.
• Drafting grant applications.
• Compliance audit.
• Contractualisation of electricity and biomethane resale prices.
• Bank loan applications.

During the works phase, we can also help you set up utilities (water, electricity connection) and with any appointments with audit firms (TA – technical audits, H&S – health and safety audits) so that commissioning goes smoothly.

Project management

Effective project management ensures that the project progresses at a good pace without incurring additional costs. To do this, we take care of :
• Establishing a bill of specifications: comparing offers, meeting with companies at the client’s office (interviews), drawing up contracts, etc.
• Keeping to project schedules.
• Keeping within budget.
• Compliance with recommendations necessary for the process.

Specific studies

We can also conduct specific studies related to the biomethane industry, either independently or alongside our partners :
• Feasibility studies for installing NGV/CNG stations (natural gas for vehicles/compressed natural gas)
• Feasibility studies for installing a biogenic CO₂ reuse station
• Sizing of solar panels for energy self-sufficiency
• Sizing of deconditioning and hygienisation systems

As part of the project services we provide, we take care of monitoring, coordinating the works, compliance with the workplan and the acceptance of works.
